On uncertainty and trust

In the flow of time
Time feels like a river flowing at the same pace for all of
us… yet strangely, we each experience it differently. As children, a summer
holiday seems endless; as adults, months pass in a blink. Why?
Psychology suggests that new experiences stretch time. For a
child, every day is a discovery, so time feels slower. But as routines grow and
days blur into one another, time feels compressed. Suddenly, another year has
slipped away.
Technology reshapes our perception too. Notifications,
endless content, the rush to the next thing—sometimes life feels like it’s
playing in fast-forward. Yet in other moments, like when the internet freezes
for a minute, each second feels unbearably long.
Philosophy reminds us that time isn’t only what we measure,
but what we live. As Bergson said, "duration" is less about the ticking of a
clock and more about the flow of consciousness. In other words, time is shaped
not only on calendars but within our minds.
Maybe the key is not to control time, but to notice how we experience it. Because the real length of life isn’t in the years that pass—it’s in how deeply we live them.

On randomness: Nature’s quiet game
Physics tells us otherwise. The angle of the throw, the
weight of the die, the air resistance, even the table’s surface—all these
decide the outcome. What we call chance might just be hidden causes we don’t
see. So is randomness nothing more than the disguise of details beyond our
grasp?
Nature complicates things further. Quantum physics, for
instance… down there, rules play differently. You can’t predict when a particle
will decay, or which direction it will move. No equation gives you certainty.
Here we meet real randomness. Nature carries both order and chaos at once.
Mathematics tries to make sense of this game. Probability
theory gives us a way to measure uncertainty—the classic one-in-six chance of a
die. Statistics helps us uncover hidden patterns in seemingly random events.
And chaos theory… that’s where things get fascinating. Tiny changes in starting
conditions, like the flap of a butterfly’s wings, can lead to unpredictable
outcomes. Mathematics shows us that randomness is not just noise, but a
language nature uses to speak.
Science and technology try to mimic this balance.
Pseudo-random numbers in computers? They’re algorithmic, complex but not truly
free. Quantum generators, though, use uncertainty itself to create outcomes no
one can foresee.
And philosophy—randomness touches on free will too. If
everything is just cause and effect, how free are we really? But if life were
nothing but randomness, would our choices mean anything at all?
Maybe randomness is nature’s way of whispering: certainty kills creativity. Uncertainty may unsettle us, but it’s also the root of our freedom.

Digital back door
Today, the digital world has become the most visible arena of our lives. But
here’s the irony: the more visibility grows, the more the need for privacy
increases. What cannot be said in the main digital chat group is almost
immediately whispered in a smaller "mini group."
This is where digital backdoor diplomacy begins.
Whether it’s a family group, a circle of colleagues, or a community chat… the
official discourse stays in the main group, while the real negotiations and
candid talks move into the side rooms.
In the coming years, this tendency will only
grow stronger. Perhaps a revolutionary development—or a major social event—will
push humanity further in this direction. We may even see dedicated apps built
solely for "backdoor communication": safer, end-to-end encrypted, micro-spaces
visible only to a select few.
And here’s the philosophical layer: no matter how surrounded we are by technology, humans will always need a smaller, safer room to tell the truth. Sometimes that room is a corridor, sometimes a kitchen table, and sometimes just a three-person chat group.
